Terms of use

DeckSpace is an early product run by one person. These terms are short on purpose and say what I will and won't do, rather than reserving every right imaginable.

By creating an account or using the service you agree to what follows. If you don't agree, don't use it — and if a term seems unreasonable, say so at hello@deckspace.org.

What DeckSpace does

It turns material you provide into an HTML presentation, hosts it, and gives you a link you can share. AI generation runs on your own API key with the provider you choose; your use of that provider is governed by your agreement with them, and their charges are yours.

Your content stays yours

You own everything you upload or create. You grant only the permission needed to run the service: to store your content, process it to build and render your decks, and display it to you and to anyone you deliberately share a link with. That permission ends when you delete the content.

You are responsible for having the right to use what you upload, and for what you choose to publish behind a share link.

What you agree not to do

• Upload anything unlawful, or anything you don't have the rights to.
• Use it to distribute malware, phishing pages or deceptive content — a deck is a live web page, and that is exactly why this matters.
• Try to reach other people's data, break out of the deck sandbox, or interfere with the service.
• Resell the service or scrape it in bulk.

If any of that happens I may suspend or remove the account, and for anything abusive I will do so without notice.

Availability, and what it isn't

The service is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind. There is no uptime commitment: it runs on a single small machine and may be down for deploys or for reasons outside my control. Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose — every deck can be downloaded as a single HTML file, and that download is the backup.

Don't rely on it for anything safety-critical, and don't treat a rendered figure as audited: charts compute from the data you supply, and the data is your responsibility.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited. The service is currently free, so where a cap applies, it is the greater of what you have paid (nothing) and any minimum the law requires.

Ending it

You can stop at any time and ask for your account and content to be deleted. I may discontinue the service, and if I do I will give notice and time to export your decks rather than switching it off one day.

Changes and law

If these terms change materially you'll get an email and the date above will change. They are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
